On the night of August 22, Russia launched a missile and drone strike on the Odesa region. The train station in Rozdilna was damaged, and port infrastructure in the Izmail district was also targeted.
This was reported by Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia .<span> </span>
“The Odesa Railway is under attack. The station building at Rozdilna Station has been destroyed,” the post reads.<span> </span>
Train service was not suspended following the strike, and the consequences of the attack are currently being addressed.
The Russians also attacked port infrastructure in the Izmail district.
According to the<span>district</span>military administration, damage was prevented thanks to the work of the air defense system. There were no fatalities or injuries.
Overnight, the Air Force warned of several groups of drones, including jet-powered ones and“Banderol”-type drones, moving toward the Odesa region. Some groups were heading toward Chornomorsk and Ovidopol.
In addition to drones, the military detected missiles launching from the Black Sea. Specifically, missiles were reported heading toward Zatoka and Chornomorsk.
Around 3:30 a.m., the Air Force issued a warning about “Banderole” and jet-powered “Shahed” drones heading toward the Odesa region. At that time, a series of explosions was heard in the region.
Following the Russian attack, the “Tabaky” checkpoint on the border between the Odesa region and Moldova resumed operations. The State Border Guard Service reportedthat the passage of people and vehicles is once again proceeding as usual.
As previously reported by Intent, on the night of August 21, the enemy attacked the Bolhrad and Izmail districts of the Odesa region with “Shahed”-type strike drones. One of the strikes hit the infrastructure of the “Tabaky” border crossing.
Buildings and structures at the checkpoint were damaged as a result. Fires that broke out at the site were extinguished by State Emergency Service personnel.
