• Elina Svitolina managed to reach the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome. In the last eight, the tennis player from Odesa defeated American Danielle Collins in two sets. In the quarterfinals, another American, Peyton Sterns, proved to be more resilient in a three-set thriller. Fatigue and injuries (back pain) took their toll, so Svitolina decided to skip the next tournament in Strasbourg.
