The deputy head of the Kherson Regional Council, Yuriy Sobolevsky, resigned as the head of the regional branch of the Servant of the People political party and withdrew from its membership.

The politician announced his decision via social media.

"I have decided to resign as the head of the Kherson regional organization of the Servant of the People political party and to withdraw from this political force," he said in a statement.

Despite this, Sobolevsky noted that he would continue to work as a member of the regional council.

According to the Youcontrol analytical system, after Sobolevsky 's resignation, Serhiy Kozyr, the former head of the Kherson Regional State Administration and currently an MP, took over as head of the regional branch of the Servant of the People party.

Prior to that, on March 27, Sobolevsky, as the head of the executive staff, took part in a report presented to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The topic of the report concerned the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and was presented by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets. This was reported on the website of the Kherson Regional Council.

In March 2019, Yuriy Sobolevsky became Volodymyr Zelenskyy's representative in the Kherson region and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. In the same year, he headed Zelensky's campaign headquarters in Kherson region. In the fall of 2020, Sobolevsky became a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council, and in December of the same year, he was elected first deputy chairman of the regional council.

The Centerfor Public Investigations analyzed Yuriy Sobolevsky's declaration for the past year and found that in September 2023, he purchased a 45.7-square-meter apartment in Kyiv. Thus, he has two apartments in the capital - the second one is 94 square meters, and his wife Olena owns another apartment in Kyiv with an area of 65.8 square meters. Sobolevsky has the right to use a 69.9-square-meter apartment in Kherson. According to the declaration, the family has no cars. However, the politician has not yet submitted his declaration for 2024.
