Drone attacks car in Kherson: two women killed

In Kherson, two women were killed and another man was injured as a result of a Russian drone attack. A criminal investigation was opened under the article on war crimes.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the investigation is being carried out under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of the laws and customs of war, which caused the death of people.

According to the investigation, on April 1, 2026, at about 11:20 a.m., the Russian military launched a drone attack. An explosive device was dropped on a civilian car moving through the city.

The impact killed two female passengers. They sustained injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene.

The driver of the car sustained injuries of varying severity. He was taken to a medical facility where he is being treated.

Emergency services and law enforcement officers were working at the scene. Investigators are documenting the consequences of the shelling, recording the damage to the vehicle and collecting material evidence.

Prosecutors, along with police investigators, are establishing all the circumstances of the attack, as well as the Russian military personnel involved in its implementation.

Law enforcement officials emphasize that such attacks on civilian objects are considered war crimes.

Earlier, Intent wrote about how Russian troops attacked a taxi in the Dniprovsky district of Kherson. The attack on civilian transport took place at noon, when there were passengers in the bus.

The vehicle was completely destroyed as a result of the hit.

According to preliminary information, at least ten people were injured, including a 17-year-old teenager.

Later, in Kherson, a worker of a thermal power plant was killed by Russian shelling. According to preliminary data, around 14:00, a 66-year-old woman came under enemy fire . She sustained injuries incompatible with life and died on the spot.

On March 9, the Russians once again shelled the settlements of the Kherson region. The attacks killed one person and injured eight others. The Russian military fired at civilian infrastructure with artillery, mortars, multiple launch rocket systems, and various types of UAVs.
