Writer, screenwriter, filmmaker, and soldier Valeriy Puzik shared his memories of his first deeper acquaintance with Odesa in 2015.

In an interview with Intent, he said that at the time he could not understand why the city focused so much on Pushkin, Babel, and Bunin.

"I read Babel, I read Bunin, but I was personally more interested in talking about the 1920s and 30s in the context of Dovzhenko and Yanovsky. I also saw the Odesa film studio and the state of its condition... The question arises: what is wrong with this city? " he said.
