The Odesa Regional Employment Center commented on the order of the interim head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Nadiya Zadorozhna, to introduce labor service in the city.

According to Olena Yurkovska, a representative of the Odesa Regional Employment Center's communications department, the order is related to the launch of the "Army of Recovery" program in the city.

"The program has finally started working in Odesa, where it is critically needed. This program is of particular importance for Odesa. And it is important that it is now fully operational in a place where the need for recovery and assistance is a daily occurrence. At the same time, it should be clearly understood that participation in the "Army of Restoration " is entirely voluntary. People decide to join," the Employment Center emphasized.

According to the Center, about 1.2 thousand people have joined the program in Odesa Oblast since the beginning of the year. In total, 13.4 thousand participants have joined the program since its inception. More than UAH 100 million has been allocated to pay salaries in the region since the start of the program.

The"Army of Recovery" project was launched by the government in the fall of 2022 to engage people who have temporarily lost their jobs in rebuilding the country by performing community service.

The most active work is being carried out in Podil and Bolhrad districts, as well as in Rozdilnyansky and Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky districts.

In 2026, the salary for a full month of participation is UAH 12,970.5, and for residents of frontline areas and veterans - up to UAH 17,000.

Since the beginning of the year, almost 9,000 Ukrainians have voluntarily joined the "Army of Restoration" across the country. In total, 90,000 participants have already taken part in the community service program over the entire period of its operation. In 2026, almost 8.7 thousand people were involved in the work, including about 700 people aged 60-70. More than UAH 3 billion was allocated to pay the salaries of the program participants across the country.
