The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has revoked the license of Mykolaiv Polytechnic International Technological University to conduct educational activities in the field of higher education.

As reported by Suspilne, the reason was violations related to the renewal of students in specialties that no longer exist in the state list since 2019. The university is appealing the decision in court, and the case is being considered by the Mykolaiv District Administrative Court.

According to the publication, the interim rector of the university, Yevhenia Polyakova, said that the institution continues to operate, citing data from the Unified State Electronic Education Database. However, she later refrained from further comment.

Lawyer Andriy Sachenko explained that after the license was revoked, the university could not enroll students in the relevant specialties or issue diplomas. At the same time, the status of students remains valid. They are offered three options: to transfer to licensed programs at the university, to change educational institutions, or to demand a refund for contractual education.

In Kherson, Victoria Granovska has been temporarily appointed as the rector of the State Agrarian and Economic University. She replaced Yuriy Kyrylov, who was dismissed early by the Ministry of Education and Science. In December last year, the Ministry of Education and Science prematurely terminated the contract with the rector of Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University, Yuriy Kyrylov.

Meanwhile, three Odesa universities were included in the ranking of efficiency among all higher education institutions in Ukraine. The Mechnikov Odesa National University was ranked 11th by this indicator. Odesa State Environmental University was ranked 15th among all higher education institutions in Ukraine. Odesa National Technological University is also in the top 20, ranking 19th.
