In Mykolaiv, a serviceman is trying to get compensation for his damaged car after an accident with a truck belonging to a member of the regional council.

According to Suspilne Mykolaiv, the accident occurred on December 1, 2025, at the entrance to the city. According to Ruslan Zaporozhan, a soldier, he stopped to turn around when a truck with a semi-trailer hit his car from behind.

The police were called to the scene and drew up a report and a diagram of the accident. Later it became known that the truck belonged to Mykolaiv Regional Council deputy Serhiy Shulhach, although another driver was behind the wheel.

The Ingul district court found the truck driver guilty of violating traffic rules. He was fined UAH 850 and ordered to pay a court fee.

At the same time, the issue of compensation remains unresolved. According to the soldier, the amount of damage is more than 207 thousand hryvnias, and the repair of the car is estimated at more than 282 thousand hryvnias.

After the accident, the man tried to negotiate with the owner of the truck, but, according to him, there was no contact, so he went to court.

The lawyer explained that the owner of the vehicle may be liable for compensation if the driver was in an employment relationship with him. Otherwise, the compensation must be paid by the driver himself.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that the car used by the military officer is registered to another person who is abroad.

The journalists tried to get a comment from the MP and the truck driver, but they did not answer the calls.

Earlier, Intent wrote that in Mykolaiv, military counterintelligence officers prevented the spread of classified information about the routes of Ukrainian units in the south of the country. As a result of the measures taken, a 31-year-old contract soldier of one of the combat brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was suspected.
