Mykolaiv has expanded its reimbursement program for the repair of internal networks in apartment buildings to include heating in addition to water and sewage. So far, about 200 houses have received compensation.

The decision was made at a session of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The deputies were asked to amend the procedure by which residents of apartment buildings in Mykolaiv are reimbursed for the cost of repairing internal networks. In particular, the title of the document will add "heat supply" to the existing "water supply and sewerage".

According to Ihor Nabatov, First Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Communal Services, the program was adopted in 2023. To date, about 200 houses have already received compensation. Both condominiums and management companies participated in the program. According to the official, another 155 houses have been repaired and are currently waiting to receive compensation in the amount of 50% of the total cost of the work.

The works were performed for UAH 6 million 285 thousand, of which UAH 3 million 143 thousand were reimbursed under the local targeted program. In order to expand the capabilities of this program, it was proposed to make changes that would allow for the repair of not only water systems, but also heating networks.

Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych added that the networks located in basements or attics will be replaced. People make repairs in their apartments at their own expense. And that this issue concerns not only condominiums - any private company that wants to improve the networks can participate in this program.

Nabatov also said that they currently have a balance of more than 6 million for compensation, and this year they have used about 500 thousand hryvnias. Also, payments for UAH 2 million have been prepared for today.

City council members supported the decision.

In 2024, 23 condominiums joined the energy saving program, attracting more than UAH 81 million in investments. They were compensated about UAH 9 million from the city budget. As part of the program, they overhauled heating systems, insulated facades, attics and basements, installed individual heating points, heat distributors and replaced windows. For comparison, in 2023, 12 condominiums received assistance and were paid more than UAH 5.5 million.

In total, more than UAH 48 million has been allocated for the implementation of the Warm Mykolaiv program until 2025. Of this amount, more than UAH 41.5 million has been allocated to a special fund to be used for overhauls with thermal modernization and installation of solar panels in kindergartens and municipal institutions.
