Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation served a notice of suspicion to an inspector of the Prymorskyi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support in Odesa, who participated in a scheme to organize an illegal deferment from military service.
According to the SBI, his accomplices were exposed by the SBI earlier, in April 2025.
Back then, an employee of the Ministry of Defense's support center and his two accomplices were notified of suspicion. They were looking for people who wanted to avoid military service and offered them to deregister from the military register for USD 12-16 thousand.
The official assured potential clients that he had connections in one of the district military commissariats in Odesa region, where they were supposed to falsify data to exempt persons liable for military service. The scheme was used by 10 people.
The investigation established that they were assisted by an employee of the Prymorskyi RTC and JV. The investigators also exposed the organizer of the scheme, an unemployed resident of Odesa, who had connections and acquaintances with all the participants in the scheme, managed the processes and even forged some documents.
Thus, the organizer and an employee of the Primorsky RTC and the joint venture in Odesa were served a notice of suspicion of receiving a large sum of money. Odesa were served a notice of suspicion of receiving an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision-making of another person authorized to perform state functions, by prior conspiracy.
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint and removal from office is being decided. The sanction of the article provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Earlier, law enforcement officers of Odesa region jointly with the SBU exposed the acting head of the district territorial center for recruitment and social support on bribery. In exchange for USD 1,500, the official promised to remove a person liable for military service from the list of wanted persons.
