Elina Svitolina has returned to the top ten in the WTA rankings after reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open, where she earned an additional 349 points to her world ranking.
Elina Svitolina showed the best result in her career at the previous Grand Slam, the Australian Open, Suspilne reported.
The last time Elina Svitolina was among the top ten tennis players in the world was back in October 2021. Before that, she had been continuously ranked in the top ten for four years, with 2017, 2018, and 2019 being among the top three.
After that, in 2022-2023, she had a break due to pregnancy and the birth of a child. In April 2023, the Ukrainian tennis player played her first match as the 1344th ranked player in the world.
<b>Elina Svitolina </b>from Odesa is a Ukrainian tennis player, the third ranked player in the WTA singles rankings in 2017, 2018 and 2019, bronze medalist of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (2021), and champion of the final WTA Finals tournament in 2018.
Ukraine's top-ranked player Elina Svitolina won the WTA 250 tournament in Auckland, New Zealand.
In October 2025, Elina Svitolina won the Heart Award for her performance in the final of the Billie Jean King Cup 2025. It was the second time in 2025 that Svitolina won the Heart Award. In April, she won the award following the results of the Unofficial World Tennis Championships. Svitolina became the third Ukrainian woman to receive the award since its inception in 2009. Previously, it was won by Angelina Kalinina (2023) and Kateryna Bondarenko (2016).
In mid-September 2025, Svitolina played in the final tournament of the CBDT 2025 in Shenzhen as part of the Ukrainian national team.
Earlier, at the WTA250 tournament in Rouen, France ,Elina Svitolina, the 18th ranked player in the world, received the status of the first seed. This is due to the fact that most of her opponents played at the tournament in Stuttgart.
In May 2025, Elina Svitolina announced that she would not play at the WTA 500 series grass-court tournament in Strasbourg, France.
