Five-story building burns in Odesa due to Russian attack

On the night of April 5, the Russian army once again attacked the Odesa region with drones, hitting civilian infrastructure in Odesa.

According to the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, the attack destroyed the facade of a five-story residential building from the first to the third floor.

Apartments and balconies caught fire, and three people were injured. Two of the victims were hospitalized, and one will be treated on an outpatient basis. The blast wave smashed the windows in the neighboring buildings. Six cars were damaged. Rescuers evacuated 20 residents and extinguished the fires.

As of 7:00 a.m., according to preliminary data, about 250 windows and 25 balconies were damaged, and four balconies were completely destroyed. Currently, the buildings have electricity and water, but gas supply is temporarily cut off.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of April 5, the enemy attacked the country with 93 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass and other types of attack drones. According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense defenses had neutralized 76 enemy drones. However, 17 strike drones were recorded at 10 locations, as well as the fall of downed drones (wreckage) at three locations.

On the afternoon of April 4, Chornomorsk in Odesa region was also attacked by the Russian aggressor once again. Civilian infrastructure came under attack - a drone flew into the roof of a house. Another apartment building was also damaged, with windows smashed in the apartments and cars parked nearby.

On April 3, a 79-year-old resident of Odesa, who was injured when a drone hit his house on April 28, died in hospital. The man was undergoing treatment, but his body failed. On March 31, Serhiy Lysak reported about another Odesa resident who was injured in the attack and was undergoing treatment. He was 76 years old.
