On the afternoon of December 28, Russian troops shelled the village of Bilozerka in Kherson region with artillery. Eight people were injured in the shelling. Among them are two children aged 15 and 16.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

"A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl sustained explosive and craniocerebral injuries, as well as contusions. The boy was diagnosed with a shrapnel wound to the forehead. They were taken to the hospital by ambulance," the statement said.

A 21-year-old man with a shrapnel neck wound was also hospitalized. He is currently receiving the necessary assistance.

Later, the official clarified that three more women were injured in the Russian shelling of Bilozerka. They were in the house at the time of the attack. Two of the victims, aged 43 and 62, were diagnosed with explosive and craniocerebral injuries and contusions. Another local resident sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to her forearms. She was taken to a hospital for medical care.

Later, Prokudin wrote that the number of victims increased to eight. Two men, aged 51 and 52, sustained blast and brain injuries and contusions. An ambulance team took them to the hospital, where they are being treated.

Yesterday, on December 27, Russians attacked residents of Kherson region several times with drones. Five people were injured as a result of Russian aggression.

Last week, the Ukrainian Defense Forces thwarted the plans of the Russian occupiers to land sabotage and reconnaissance groups near Kherson in the right-bank part of Kherson region. On that day, Kherson suffered the largest shelling since 2022. The explosions did not stop from four in the morning. Russian troops fired from all types of weapons available to them, firing more than 1,000 shells. There is not a single neighborhood that was not affected.

Most of the strikes hit residential areas. Rescuers extinguished more than a dozen fires. Medics, law enforcement and utility workers were on the scene. At the same time, pro-Russian telegram channels were actively spreading fake reports about the alleged forced evacuation of Kherson residents. However, this information was untrue and aimed at creating panic among the population. The head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim assured of his readiness to help Kherson residents if necessary.
