Residential buildings and the city's inclusive center were destroyed as a result of the Russian air attack on Odesa at dawn on June 17.
This was reported by Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov.
According to him, the center worked with children with special needs and no one was injured in the attack. The building of a kindergarten located nearby was also damaged. Destruction was recorded in the historical part of the city: houses were vandalized. No information has been received on the death toll so far.
However, there are victims of the attack, according to the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, as of 6:30 a.m., 13 victims were known, but the rubble is currently being cleared, and there may be people under it.
The mayor's office said that all 13 victims would be treated on an outpatient basis.
The capital of Ukraine also suffered a massive attack, where six city districts were affected. So far, 16 people have been reported injured in the capital and one US citizen has been killed.
A week ago, on June 10, Odesa was also targeted by the Russian army at night, killing two people.
The shelling damaged and destroyed residential buildings, an emergency ambulance station, a maternity hospital, and a fire broke out on the territory of the Odesa Zoo. Thirteen people were injured.
Earlier, law enforcement officers launched an investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war due to an air attack by the Russian army on Odesa region on the night of June 7. The attack damaged a church building and other infrastructure in the village of Ovidiopol.
Prior to this, the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Odesa Oblast launched a pre-trial investigation into the commission of war crimes. On June 5, at night, the Russian armed forces attacked Odesa region with attack drones. It has been preliminarily established that the enemy used more than 25 UAVs.
