A resident of Kherson region, who served the enemy in the occupation police department, was sentenced to 15 years in prison

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that, with the support of the public prosecution of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of the region was found guilty of voluntarily holding a position in an illegal law enforcement agency (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court sentenced him to the maximum penalty for this crime - 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. He was also deprived of the right to hold positions in state authorities, public administration, and local self-government for a period of 15 years.

It was proved that in the summer of 2022, the convict went to "serve" in an illegally created law enforcement agency - the "Aleshkovsky District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kherson Region". Having taken up the position of the so-called "acting police commandant of the platoon", the convict executed criminal orders and instructions of the aggressor state and the occupation authorities.

The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that two ex-police officers from Kherson region, who went to serve with the occupiers in Genichesk, are accused. The investigation established that the defendants began to support the enemy after the full-scale invasion of Russia. In 2022, both went to "serve" the occupiers in the pseudo-law enforcement agencies established in the territory of the Genichesk district. One of them received the position of "acting deputy head of the department of the Genichesk district police department" from the occupiers. Later, he was "promoted" to head the "department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation" in Ivanivka. Another took the position of "acting inspector of the department of district police inspectors of the Genichesk district police department".

It was also said that a resident of Kherson region, who headed the occupation"territorial administration" in the village of Shchaslyve, would be tried.
