Two policemen from Kherson region went to help the occupiers

Two ex-police officers from Kherson region who joined the occupiers in Genichesk are charged.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, indictments were sent to court against two former police officers from the Kherson region on the fact of high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the defendants began supporting the enemy after the full-scale invasion of Russia. In 2022, both went to "serve" the occupiers in the pseudo-law enforcement agencies established in the territory of the Genichesk district.

One of them received the position of "acting deputy head of the department of the Genichesk district police department" from the occupiers. Later, he was "promoted" to head the "department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation" in Ivanivka. Another took the position of "acting inspector of the department of district police inspectors of the Genichesk district police department". The defendants contribute to the establishment and functioning of the law enforcement system of the aggressor state in the occupied settlements of Kherson region.

The special pre-trial investigation was carried out by the State Bureau of Investigation in Melitopol.

Two residents of the region, who contributed to the functioning of the occupation penal system in Kherson region, will be tried. The investigation established that one of the defendants voluntarily took a position in the illegally created Dariivka Correctional Colony in 2022, and later became the so-called "duty assistant to the head of the Pre-trial Detention Center No. 1 of the Kherson Oblast Penitentiary Service". Another took the position of a so-called "junior inspector of the 2nd category" in the same institution.

Investigations have also been completed into four former penitentiary service employees from Kherson region who collaborated with the enemy.
