Police detained an officer of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Territorial Center for Manning and Social Support on suspicion of taking a bribe.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Police Department in Odesa Oblast.

According to the investigation, the officer of the territorial center for recruitment and social support demanded USD 3 thousand from a citizen liable for military service for solving the issue. Namely, the removal of him from the wanted list and further registration of a deferral from mobilization for health reasons.

On March 30, law enforcement officers detained the soldier while he was receiving the agreed amount. The police seized $3,000 received as an illegal benefit from the scene. The police investigators served the dealer a notice of suspicion of receiving an undue advantage.

The issue of choosing a type of detention is being decided. If found guilty, the military officer faces imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.

The Kyiv Court of Odesa approved the plea agreement concluded by the lieutenant colonel and the prosecutor on the abuse of influence. He was sentenced to two years in prison, but commuted to two years of service in a disciplinary battalion. In September 2025, the lieutenant colonel offered his friend to influence the doctors of the military medical commission, asking for 2 thousand dollars in the United States.

Earlier, in Odesa, law enforcement officers exposed an official of one of the district territorial centers for recruitment and social support who demanded money for influencing personnel decisions. In exchange for 300,000 hryvnias, he promised to help a soldier of an assault regiment transfer from the front line to a rear unit, as well as to assist in his subsequent dismissal from service.
