In Odesa, four residents of Odesa district were detained for working for Russian special services and transmitting data for strikes against the Ukrainian military and critical infrastructure. The organizer of the agent network was a security guard at a sports school who involved his friends in espionage activities.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the prosecutor's office, the agent network included four residents of Odesa district. They are charged with high treason and unauthorized dissemination of information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under Part 2 of Article 111, Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the initiator was a security guard at a sports school who had pro-Russian views and established contact with a representative of the Russian special services. He agreed to collect and transmit through closed channels data on the movements and positions of the Ukrainian military, weapons delivery routes, locations of critical infrastructure and the consequences of shelling.

To fulfill the tasks of curators, the man recruited three other acquaintances: a sports coach, a taxi driver and his wife, a saleswoman. From the end of November 2024 to June 2025, they regularly provided the occupiers with information about the equipment, personnel, and routes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Some of the data they obtained through personal surveillance, and some from acquaintances in everyday conversations.

Currently, all four have been detained and are being held in custody without bail by court order.

Recently, a court found a 39-year-old resident of Odesa region guilty of high treason and sentenced her to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. The prosecutor's office proved that the woman, on her own initiative, established contact with a representative of the Russian special services and received a task from him to collect and transmit data on the location of military facilities in Odesa and the region, regardless of the type of troops or their subordination.
