The SBU CI detained a woman in Odesa who is suspected of directing the Nazi rocket and drone attacks on the port city's energy infrastructure.
This was reported by the SBU press service.
According to the case file, the woman's main task was to find and transmit the coordinates of transformer substations in neighborhoods, as well as high-voltage facilities that supply the regional center.
The detainee was a 48-year-old local unemployed woman who had been recruited by the enemy in a telegram channel looking for easy money. In exchange for the promise of a quick part-time job, the agent traveled around the city by public transportation, recording the territory of power facilities on her smartphone.
She also walked around the perimeter of power substations to detect damage and find out the technical condition after the recent shelling. The suspect sent the collected information to her FSB supervisor via messenger. In particular, in addition to photos with marks on Google maps, she reported on the stages of restoration work at the facilities.
SBU officers detained the suspect at her place of residence when she returned from a reconnaissance mission and was preparing a report for her Russian supervisor. During the searches, two cell phones were seized from her, which she used to collect intelligence and contact the FSB.
The SBU investigators notified her of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law. The woman is in custody. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
In January, SBU counterintelligence detained a woman in Chernihiv region who is suspected of coordinating air attacks on Kyiv's energy infrastructure and spying on the movement of the Defense Forces, and later traveled to Odesa to spy on the railroad.
