An Odesa court found a man guilty of high treason committed under martial law and sentenced him to 15 years in prison.

According to the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine, the man was exposed in May 2025 in Odesa.

The offender was adjusting the missile and drone attacks of the Nazis on the port city. Investigators found that the 47-year-old engineer of a local plant was engaged in directing enemy shelling. The man came to the attention of the occupiers when he posted pro-Kremlin comments on Telegram channels.

Using his position and personal connections, the agent tracked the locations of enterprises that fulfill defense orders.

He passed the collected intelligence to his FSB supervisor in the form of coordinates on Google maps describing the targets on which the enemy was preparing air strikes. In addition, the traitor monitored and reported to the Russian special service on the deployment of the Defense Forces and the consequences of enemy arrivals in the city.

To prepare the next shelling, the agent took into account the approximate location of the Ukrainian air defense firing positions, which he reported to his supervisor.

The SBU officers exposed the offender at the initial stage of his reconnaissance activity and documented it step by step. At the final stage of the operation, the agent was detained at his place of residence. During the searches, a smartphone was seized from him, on which he had been accumulating intelligence and contacting the FSB.

In September, the Trostianets District Court of Vinnytsia region found the Odesa native guilty of high treason and sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
