Odesa-based charity center Monster Corporation has stopped accepting requests from the military due to a lack of resources to fulfill them.
This was reported by the head of the center Kateryna Nozhevnikova.
"Boys and girls. Please forgive us. We did not have the strength of mind to go to the front, because you, and now I, do not have enough resources to justify your trust, or maybe we do not have the ability to convey the problem to those who help. Or maybe there are so many requests from all over the country that people don't know what holes to plug. I don't know. But the fact remains. The number of requests that we cannot answer is already critical. The feeling of guilt is growing. I'm sorry. To close all the requests that we already have, and we are trying to close at least something, but not every request," she wrote.
The lack of funds is also exacerbated by the fact that the foundation cannot find premises for the civilian department in Odesa.
"Everyone refuses to give us premises. Sorry, they say, but you are not good neighbors," she said.
The Monster Corporation Charitable Foundation was founded in 2017 by Kateryna Nozhevnikova, who is also one of the founders of the foundation. Kateryna Nozhevnikova is also known for announcing a picket in front of the Odesa City Council after the Odesa City Council approved the allocation of 106 million for the repair of the Kyiv District Court. The single picket of the Odesa volunteer turned into a mass rally because of the desire of Odessans to support the volunteer. Eventually, the scandalous decision was canceled and Kateryna Nozhevnikova decided to stop rallying. However, the actions near the city hall did not stop.
In 2019, the foundation was presented with a mansion on Frantsuzsky Boulevard, known in Odesa as the "Gray Castle," which was in a state of disrepair because it had been abandoned for many years.
The volunteers found restorers who began to prepare the project. The restoration itself was preliminarily estimated at $3 million. The volunteers also held public hearings and managed to get the building's status as an architectural monument restored, which it had been illegally deprived of during another resale. The "monsters" cleaned up the territory, removing all the garbage, and preserved the estate so that it would not be completely destroyed by natural conditions.
At the same time, they began raising money for the restoration, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to stop this collection, as the Monster Corporation began actively raising money to purchase equipment to help patients, which was sent to hospitals and other necessary equipment to fight the virus.
Then the full-scale invasion began, and once again, volunteers postponed raising money for restoration and began helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2023, the State Property Fund sued the Monster Corporation for the building.
