Odesa International Film Festival announces this year's winners

The jury of the 16th Odesa International Film Festival has determined the winners in various nominations, who received this year's Golden Duke diplomas and statuettes.

According to the OIFF press service, the Grand Prix was awarded to the film You Are Space directed by Pavlo Ostrikov based on the results of the audience vote. In addition to the Golden Duke statuette, the director received a cash prize of 75 thousand hryvnias. The film also received a special diploma from the International Jury.

The main prize in the Best European Feature Film category went to Six Days in Spring by Joaquim Lafosse. The award for Best Ukrainian Feature Documentary was given to the film A Simple Soldier by Artem Ryzhykov and Juan Camilo Cruz. The winners received the Golden Duke statuette and a cash prize of 75 thousand hryvnias. The jury of the National Documentary Competition Program awarded special diplomas to two films: " Daddy's Lullaby by Lesya Dyak and Music of Being by Gennadiy Chernomashintsev.

As part of the closing ceremony, the winners of the pitching of the Film Industry Office section of the festival were awarded separately.

In the Development section, the jury awarded two projects at once: Golden Leggings by Arkady Nepytalyuk and Tangled by Ivan Orlenko received 40 thousand hryvnias each . In the Work in Progress section, the main prize of 80 thousand hryvnias went to the film Every Death Reduces Me by Serhiy Bazhenov.

This year's Odesa International Film Festival started on October 24 in Kyiv. The opening ceremony took place at the Parkovy Exhibition and Convention Center. Over the course of 11 days, the audience of the Odesa International Film Festival watched 113 films, including 104 feature films, in 18 programs.
