The organizers of the reenactment of the Easter events described in the Bible, which has become a tradition for this holiday in Odesa, apologized for broadcasting a documentary in Russian.

As Natalia Terekhova, administrator of the Good Samaritan Charitable Foundation, which organizes the reenactment, explained to Intent, it was an accident and the film was supposed to be broadcast with subtitles without sound.

"This movie was made several years ago. Now we have translated the titles from English and decided that we will not turn on the sound. Only the titles. We started translating into Ukrainian, but we didn't have time to translate it completely before the reconstruction. The whole script was redone last year, and this year it is in Ukrainian. We made a complete recording of each line anew. We are against Russian content, but some old footage obviously got in," she explained.

The video recording of the Russian content was made on April 12 by journalist Igor Filipov.

It should be noted that, like last year, the 2025 reconstruction is accompanied by air raid alarms.

The Crucifixion of Christ is the execution of Jesus Christ by crucifixion on a cross, an episode that concludes the Passion of Christ and precedes the burial and Resurrection of Christ. According to the Bible, Jesus Christ redeemed Adam's original sin and opened the way to God. There is also the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross.

According to the evangelists, Jesus was crucified with many people present:

According to the Bible, Jesus was taken to Golgotha, the traditional Jerusalem execution site, where he was crucified between two thieves for claiming to be the Christ, the son of God and the king of the Jews.

After the execution, Jesus was buried in a tomb carved in the rock by Joseph of Arimathea, a noble member of the Sanhedrin, his secret follower, who obtained permission from Pilate to take the body down from the cross and wrapped it in a shroud. Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day after his death at early morning on Sunday, and from the point of view of Christianity, by his resurrection he showed humanity the way of salvation and saved it from the captivity of sin. This is the basis for the idea of celebrating the Christian New Testament Easter (Pascha), the equivalent of the Old Testament Easter.
