On May 31, Mykolaiv hosted another reminder rally in support of war prisoners and missing defenders of Ukraine.

According to Suspilne Mykolaiv, the event was attended by about 150 people with flags, posters, and photos of their relatives and friends.

The participants gathered to remind the public about the Ukrainian military, whose fate is still unknown, as well as those who are in Russian captivity.

Local resident Inna said she comes to such events every week to support families waiting for their loved ones to return.

"Each of us here has either a missing person or relatives in captivity," she said.

Among the participants was the family of Vlad Chernetsky, who went missing more than two years ago. His relatives say they have not received any information about his whereabouts since then.

Olena, who has been searching for her younger brother, who went missing in 2025, for a year, also came to the event.

"I come here every week. We hope that someone will recognize him and say something," the woman said.

The action lasted about an hour. The participants called on drivers to support them with car signals and to draw attention to the problem of returning prisoners and searching for missing soldiers.

Recently, a car rally in support of war prisoners and missing defenders was held in Mykolaiv on the occasion of the Day of the Marines. Marines, soldiers released from Russian captivity, and relatives of soldiers who have not yet returned home joined the rally.

Earlier, another action was held in Yuzhnoukrainsk to commemorate Ukrainian prisoners of war and missing persons. The event was attended by about 40 people, including relatives of the defenders, volunteers and concerned citizens.

In Mykolaiv, on August 31, people came out with flags, slogans, and photos to remind them of those who are in captivity or missing. The participants also congratulated the six soldiers released from captivity on their return. In total, the event was attended by about 270 people.
