Mykolaiv Regional Council Approves Key Amendments to Development Strategy and Hospital Capital Increase

In Mykolaiv, the presidency of the regional council discussed amendments to the regional development strategy, as well as changes to local government programs and merit awards. They also considered increasing the authorized capital of municipal hospitals and appointing new managers for several cultural and sports institutions.

This was discussed at the presidium of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.

The presidium of the Mykolaiv Regional Council held a meeting to discuss a number of issues. Although the official order to convene the session has not yet appeared on the council's website, draft decisions have already been prepared.

One of the main issues was amending the Mykolaiv Oblast Development Strategy until 2027. Accordingly, village, town, city, and district councils were recommended to bring their strategic documents in line with this Strategy.

It was also proposed to amend the Local Self-Government Development Program for 2024-2027, which includes awarding regional council honors such as "For Merit to Mykolaiv Region," "St. Nicholas Cross," and other awards for professional achievements and socio-economic development.

At the same time, they considered amendments to the Charter of the Mykolaiv Regional Museum of Local Lore, as well as the appointment of new managers for several municipal cultural and sports institutions. It is planned to appoint directors for the Regional Palace of Culture, Mykolaiv Regional Philharmonic, Mykolaiv Regional School of Higher Sportsmanship, as well as for two municipal children's and youth sports schools No. 1 and a comprehensive sports school.

In addition, they approved resolutions concerning business entities - agricultural producers affected by force majeure, and decided to increase the authorized capital of Mykolaiv Regional Clinical and Children's Clinical Hospitals to UAH 5,000 and 2,000 thousand, respectively, at the expense of the regional budget.

At the last extraordinary 27th session, the deputies of the Mykolaiv Regional Council decided to transfer seven vocational schools to the regional balance sheet, which are currently financed from the regional budget in the amount of over UAH 163 million, but the regional council is unable to manage their property.

In addition, the deputies identified the creation of a transport and logistics hub with a developed port infrastructure, the development of the blue economy, alternative energy sources and an innovative agricultural sector as priority areas for the region's development.
