This year's holiday season in Mykolaiv is likely to be held without the opening of sea beaches.

This was reported by Vitaliy Kim, the head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, on Novosti.Live on May 6.

According to him, despite the preparations for the opening, the military does not give permission due to the high level of danger. The region is located much closer to enemy positions than, for example, Odesa, which makes the coast vulnerable to attacks by FPV drones and artillery.

Kim noted that the region is technically ready to open beaches. In particular, a system of protection against sea mines has been developed using special structures. Specific plans have also been prepared to open certain locations if permission is granted.

However, according to preliminary estimates, access to the open sea is likely to remain closed in 2026.

The head of the region emphasized that the situation is critical for the tourism business, which has been virtually non-existent since the start of the full-scale invasion. The regional authorities plan to ask the state for support for this industry.

At the same time, inland water bodies in the Mykolaiv region, which have already been cleared of mines, are to be opened for recreation.

Meanwhile, more beaches are planned to be opened in Odesa region than last year.

Earlier, a modular administrative building, the ResilienceHub, was planned to be built in the village of Kobleve, Mykolaiv Oblast.

As you know, with the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the village of Kobleve in Mykolaiv region was closed to vacationers. The coast was mined to protect it from the Russian army. Today, there are only broken hotels and abandoned recreation centers, and local outlets where people used to sell and buy goods are overgrown with weeds.

In February, the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration started talking about the possible opening of beaches in Koblevo, but failed to reach an agreement with the military.
