In Mykolaiv region, the former acting director of a utility company in Pivdenoukrainsk was served with a notice of suspicion for failing to submit declarations.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the 44-year-old man is suspected of violating the financial control requirements under Article 366-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, from August 2021 to January 2024, he acted as the director of a utility company of the South Ukrainian City Council and actually exercised the powers of the head of a legal entity under public law. According to the law, the official was obliged to submit declarations to the Unified State Register of Declarations.

However, according to the investigation, the man deliberately failed to file annual declarations for the period of his work in the position, as well as a declaration after his dismissal.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Voznesensk District Police Department under the supervision of the Voznesensk District Prosecutor's Office.

If found guilty, the former head of the utility company faces up to one year in prison and a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years.

At the same time, according to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict.

As previously reported, an official of the South Ukrainian City Council became a defendant in a criminal proceeding on suspicion of misappropriating budget funds allocated for the repair and installation of street lighting. The court arrested his apartment to prevent the property from being re-registered.

In addition, in Pivdenoukrainsk, the chief specialist of the urban planning and architecture department of the executive committee of the Pervomaisk City Council was notified of suspicion. According to the investigation, she deliberately approved the replacement of pipes at a heating facility, which caused multimillion-dollar losses.

As a reminder, members of Mykolaiv City Council declared over UAH 131 million in income and almost half a billion in savings in 2025. They keep most of their funds in cash. The declarations also include dozens of real estate properties, luxury cars, expensive gifts from relatives and property abroad.
