In 2025, Mykolaiv region expects to receive almost UAH 560 million in support for agriculture. The support will come from both the state budget and international partners.

This was reported by Olena Piskun, Director of the Department of Agricultural Development of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

In 2024, farmers in Mykolaiv region exported products worth USD 700 million. This is 96% of the region's total exports.

The grain harvest decreased from 39 to 33.4 centners per hectare, and sunflower from 21.1 to 13.9. Nevertheless, 2.1 million tons of grain were produced, 676 thousand tons of sunflower, and 466 thousand tons of vegetables. According to the official, the vegetation indicators are more or less stable. Despite the hot weather and the war, the region's farmers are getting good harvests. They have also sown 600 thousand hectares of winter crops.

As of now, farmers have exported products worth $0.7 billion to 110 countries. However, two months remain unreported, so the final figures will be even higher," noted Olena Piskun.

In addition, Olena Piskun emphasized the significant increase in tax revenues from the agricultural sector. In 2024, commodity producers in the region exceeded last year's tax payment results.

In the first 10 months of this year, farmers paid UAH 2.2 billion in taxes and fees, while for the whole of last year this figure was UAH 1.9 billion.

More than 170 farms have resumed their operations this year. About 3 thousand agricultural enterprises report on their activities. The region's farmers have received more than 207 thousand hectares of land for farming. This year, 212 companies in the region purchased 282 pieces of machinery, reducing costs by UAH 38 million.

In addition, export and import revenues in Mykolaiv region decreased year-on-year. The main profit came from grain trading. In the first nine months of 2024, business entities in Mykolaiv region exported goods worth USD 663.2 million.

The main export items included cereals (55.8%), seeds and fruits of oilseeds (16.2%), fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin (12.8%), and prepared foods (7.8%).
