Mykolaiv Prosecutor's Office demands return of 100 hectares of land

The Economic Court of Mykolaiv region has opened proceedings on a claim filed by the Bashtanka District Prosecutor's Office, invalidating the agreement on joint cultivation of a 100-hectare plot of communal land worth more than UAH 3.4 million and obliging the owner to return it to the owner for educational purposes.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

In 1997, the land was transferred to the Kazankivsky Training and Production Plant for permanent use for research and educational purposes.

The juvenile prosecutor found out that in 2025, the director of the Kazankivsky educational and production complex entered into a joint venture agreement with a local agricultural enterprise. The parties concluded the agreement to conceal another one on land lease. However, the Kazankivsky SIC does not have the authority to lease the land. As a result of the defendants' unlawful actions, the designated purpose of the land was changed and it was actually used for commercial purposes for commodity agricultural production.

Despite the ongoing violations of land legislation, the local government body responsible for controlling the area did not go to court to return the land and invalidate the agreement. A lawsuit has been filed with the court and is currently being considered.

Hazardous waste was stored in Mykolaiv region, causing environmental damage worth more than UAH 4 million. The suspects are employees of the company who, as part of an organized group, were engaged in illegal storage and disposal of waste. The head of the company organized the scheme without a license. He is currently wanted.

Last year, a deputy of a village council in Mykolaiv region illegally seized a land plot. According to law enforcement, the official forged documentation for 21 hectares of land, which he illegally began to cultivate. Investigators of Police Department No. 5 of the Mykolaiv District Department initiated criminal proceedings over the incident for "fraud committed repeatedly on a large scale" and incitement to forgery of an official document and use of a knowingly forged document.
