The executive committee in Mykolaiv has submitted draft amendments to the Social Protection program for 2024-2026 for consideration by the deputies. The total amount of funding for the program is about UAH 1.5 billion, of which most of the funds should come from the city budget.

This is evidenced by the decision of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The Executive Committee of the Mykolaiv City Council has submitted a draft decision to the deputies on amendments and additions to the city program "Social Protection" for 2024-2026. The total amount of funding for the program is UAH 1.5 billion.

According to the draft decision, the program provides a wide range of social support for different categories of city residents. The Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Mykolaiv City Council will be responsible for most of the activities. UAH 1.44 million is planned for major repairs of housing for privileged categories. Financial assistance to people with war-related disabilities and to the Defenders of Ukraine will amount to UAH 5.51 million. Families of fallen veterans and family members of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes will receive UAH 43.56 million.

The one-time assistance for the rehabilitation of children of fallen defenders will amount to UAH 3.71 million, and monthly assistance to the children of the fallen will be UAH 8.90 million. Persons with visual disabilities of groups I and II - members of the UTO - will receive assistance for the purchase of glasses in the amount of 275 thousand hryvnias, and targeted scholarships for citizens aged 100+ years will amount to 986 thousand hryvnias.

Reimbursement of the cost of installing tombstones for civilian victims of the war will amount to UAH 5.1 million. Social services for single citizens will be provided through paid services at a cost of UAH 589 thousand.

The work of the City Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation for Children and Persons with Disabilities will be funded by UAH 41.3 million, and NGOs working with veterans and persons with disabilities will receive UAH 4.83 million for their statutory activities.

Reimbursement of the cost of installing gravestones for fallen Ukrainian defenders will amount to UAH 4.78 million. The development of the social services system, including sign language interpretation and support during inclusive education for children with special needs, will be funded at UAH 19.81 million.

Mykolaiv City Council could not complete the 47th regular session for a month due to postponements, cancellations and lack of quorum. It was only on September 30, the fifth attempt, that the deputies were able to complete it, although the session began on August 28.

The problem was not only the lack of officials to vote: the postponements were caused by political disagreements and the unwillingness of certain factions to participate in the work.
