In the case of the murder on the premises of the Plyushchiv starosta, the prosecutor's office disagreed with the court's decision to allow the suspect to be released on bail. The prosecution has already filed an appeal and insists on detention without alternative.

This was reported by Suspilne.

The Bashtanka District Court of Mykolaiv Oblast has imposed a pre-trial restraint on the head of the village of Plyushchivka, who is suspected of fatally wounding his assistant. He was taken into custody, but the court determined the possibility of bail - almost 300 thousand hryvnias, which was later paid.

According to Valeriya Vlasova, a spokeswoman for the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, prosecutors requested an arrest without bail, but the court ruled otherwise. The department did not agree with this approach and sent an appeal to the Mykolaiv Court of Appeal.

The prosecution insisted that the suspect should remain in custody without the possibility of bail.

The tragedy occurred in the morning of March 17 at the starosta's office. According to the police, during the conflict, the official shot his assistant with a hunting rifle - the woman died on the spot. The suspect then called the police himself.

According to local residents, the officials had long had tense relations, which escalated after the starosta returned from service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024.

According to media reports, the deceased worked as a first-category specialist in the general department of the starosta. She began to fulfill the powers of the starosta after the current starosta, Viktor Prokopchuk, joined the Armed Forces.

According to Oleksandr Berehovoi, head of the Bashtanka community, Prokopchuk returned to the post of starosta after his discharge from the service. No one interfered with him, and the issue of his dismissal was never raised.

Also, the court of Odesa region reopened the case of Ivan Ablov, the son of a judge of the Kyiv District Administrative Court, who is accused of stabbing athlete Igor Gergel, who worked as a security guard.
