Mykolaiv has decided to build powerful solar power plants. It is planned to raise more than UAH 300 million for the project.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.

New construction of three solar power plants with a capacity of 9.9 MW is planned.

The project is initiated by the Mykolaiv City Council, and the utility company Mykolaivoblteploenergo is the contractor.

The goal of the project is to increase energy security by reducing dependence on fossil fuels and reducing greenhouse gas and other harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

Solar power plants will be located in areas with high levels of solar radiation, which will maximize electricity production. The project has significant environmental potential, as solar energy is one of the cleanest sources of energy.

The use of solar power plants will reduce emissions of CO2 and other harmful substances, reduce the load on traditional fossil fuel power plants, and raise environmental awareness among the population.

The project budget is UAH 352 million. Of these, UAH 271 million 964 thousand will be spent on construction, and UAH 80 million 36 thousand on operating costs.

According to the project description, its implementation will help improve the environmental situation, ensure stable energy supply, develop the local economy, and improve living standards.

The project is currently in preparation and requires funding.

It was also decided to install solar stations on the roofs of the heating stations of Mykolaivoblteploenergo. A total of 34 solar stations will be installed. This will provide an additional source of clean energy for the needs of local infrastructure.

In addition, Mykolaiv plans to raise UAH 1.5 billion to install cogeneration units. This will provide heat to about 100,000 consumers, 130 social institutions, residents of high-rise buildings, 16 medical institutions, kindergartens, schools and municipal social centers.

Mykolaivvodokanal also planned to purchase an expensive solar generator. According to the project description, the use of solar energy will help stabilize energy supply, especially in critical situations such as interruptions in the centralized power supply.
