Mykolaiv plans to allocate over UAH 744 million for the energy saving program until 2028. The funds will be used to reduce energy consumption in budgetary institutions and the residential sector, as well as to implement modern energy-efficient solutions.
This is evidenced by the draft decision of the Mykolaiv City Council.
Mykolaiv City Council has amended the Community Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Program for 2026-2028. The updates concern both the management structure and the list of activities and funding.
From now on, the program will be coordinated and monitored by the Department of Energy, Energy Saving and Implementation of Innovative Technologies of the City Council, which has been designated as the main executor. The new version of the program also contains a program passport and a list of planned activities.
The program is aimed at reducing energy consumption in budgetary institutions and housing stock, as well as implementing modern energy-efficient solutions in the community.
The total amount of funding for the three years is over UAH 744 million. Of this amount, UAH 325.1 million is planned to be allocated from the city budget, and another UAH 419 million will be raised from other sources, including investments and grants. The largest expenditures are planned for 2027-2028.
The program will be overseen by specialized deputy commissions and deputy mayors.
The Mykolaiv City Council also approved changes to the procedure for the operation of the household waste sorting complex. This provides for a new approach to the tender and financing of the city's solid waste landfill. As stated in the draft decision, the tender will be held for a period of no more than 15 years. At least six months before the end of the contract, the sorting entity may propose to city deputies to extend it for another 10 years.
