A new exhibition of the famous sculptor and Honored Artist of Ukraine Mykhailo Reva titled "Diaries of the Times" has opened in Odesa.
An Intent correspondent visited the exhibition.
The exhibition features drawings, paintings and sculptures that convey the artist's emotions, experiences and reflections on contemporary events. Many of the works are closely related to the ongoing war in Ukraine. Through art, the author explores the pain, struggle and strength of spirit of Ukrainians.
The exhibition features the use of real fragments of rockets, mines and shells, which the artist transforms into symbolic images. In his paintings, one can see not only darkness and destruction, but also hope, light and indomitable spirit.
The exhibition is already open to the public and will run until March 24 at the UNION International Cultural Center.
Mykhailo Reva is an Honored Artist of Ukraine, author of unique sculptural works that
decorate art spaces not only in Ukraine but also far beyond its borders. Shortly before a major exhibition in Rome, the artist presents his works in his hometown.
The artist invites viewers not just to look at art, but to immerse themselves in it, find their own meanings and feel the depth of each work.
On the eve of the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion, a part of the project "Study of Evil" by Odesa sculptor Mykhailo Reva, dedicated to the Russian war against Ukraine, was presented at the American Cultural Center in Paris.
Earlier, the Odesa Art Museum hosted the exhibition Revelation by Odesa sculptor Mykhailo Reva. It featured works from different years, from the early ones, such as icons created for the movie Desert by Mikhail Katz, to this year's mixed media works that Reva created in Mexico while he was quarantined there.
