Missile strike in Odesa region: a ship's commander and a 21-year-old maritime border guard are killed

Dmytro Shevchenko, deputy commander of the third-ranked BG-57 Mykolaiv naval guard ship, died in Odesa. He was 21 years old. Earlier it became known about the death of third-rank commander Volodymyr Kovalchuk.

According to the Lyubashiv community, Lieutenant Dmytro Shevchenko died on September 25. He was fatally wounded during one of the rocket attacks on Odesa. However, the community did not specify when the shelling took place.

The soldier was born on February 7, 2003, and was a resident of the village of Lyubashivka. On the day of his funeral, the community will mourn.

The Institute of Naval Forces of the National University "OMA" also expressed sorrow over the death of the lieutenant, calling him a brilliant officer, a professional sailor and a loyal friend who dreamed of becoming an admiral but fulfilled his duty to Ukraine to the end.

Earlier, the Nerubaysk village territorial community reported the death of the commander of a maritime guard ship, Captain Volodymyr Kovalchuk, third rank. He was killed as a result of Russian missile attack on the port infrastructure, but it was not specified when exactly.

On the night of September 26, Odesa region suffered another attack from the enemy. Russian troops attacked the region with missiles and drones. A 62-year-old woman was killed in a rocket attack in Odesa district. In addition, the explosions damaged several buildings and cars. Dry grass caught fire, but the fire was quickly extinguished thanks to the prompt actions of rescuers.

In the morning, the enemy continued the attack, this time using Shahed-type attack drones. The attack resulted in no casualties and no serious damage to infrastructure. During the rocket and drone attacks, air defense forces destroyed most of the targets.

On Friday, September 20, Odesa also came under a rocket attack by Russian occupation forces. People were injured in the shelling. The missile fragments damaged both the port and civilian infrastructure of the city, as well as a civilian ship flying the flag of Antigua. According to preliminary data, the enemy fired at Odesa with Iskander-M ballistic missiles.

On the night of September 12, Zmiinyi Island in Odesa region became a target for Russian invaders. Thus, two X-22/32 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 aircraft were fired from the airspace over the Black Sea.

On the night of September 11, the Russian occupation forces fired six X-31P anti-radar missiles from tactical aircraft in the direction of Zmiyiny Island.

The day before, on the night of September 10, Russian troops also attacked Zmeinyi using an X-31 guided missile.
