Four European-made military drone systems will be deployed to the Kherson sector. Two of them are already on their way to Ukraine.

This was announced by Robert Brovdi “Madyar,” commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces.

According to him, the new systems are intended to enhance the Ukrainian military’s reconnaissance capabilities in the Kherson sector. The need for such drones arose, in particular, because Russian troops are moving key targets farther away from the front line.

As Brovdi noted, the new UAVs are capable of operating at a range of up to 150 kilometers and reaching an altitude of up to 5 kilometers.

By comparison, he said, civilian drones can operate at altitudes of up to approximately 500 meters, and their range in that direction is about 10 kilometers.

Thus, the new systems will allow the Ukrainian military to conduct reconnaissance much farther from the front lines and detect targets that Russian troops are attempting to move to a safer distance.

Of the four systems ordered, two are already on their way to Ukraine.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to seek justice after a Russian drone targeted a market vendor in Kherson.

It was previously reported that the Kherson region remains the area where Russian forces most frequently attack civilians with FPV drones. In total, since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than16,000 criminal caseshave been registered regarding attacks by short-range drones on the civilian population.

It is worth noting that the international journalism community and human rights activists were already speaking out over a year ago about the Russian military’s systematic targeting of civilians in the Kherson region. In particular, American journalistZarina Zabriskie, who documents Russian war crimes in Ukraine, has repeatedly drawn attention to the use of FPV drones for deliberate attacks on the region’s civilian population.
