The court found a lawyer from Kyiv region guilty of high treason and sentenced him to 15 years in prison for collecting information about officials of international organizations and volunteers in Kyiv, Dnipro and Odesa.

This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the SBU, he formed an intelligence network on behalf of the enemy. In addition to collecting information, the convict and his accomplices adjusted Russian missile strikes on defense plants and energy facilities in Ukraine.

The SBU timely detained the offender and his accomplices in January 2025. During the searches, the SBU seized 15 mobile phones used by the offenders for covert communication with the occupiers, as well as other evidence of their work for the enemy.

Based on the evidence collected by the SBU investigators, the lawyer was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (committing high treason under martial law).

Earlier, the head of an Odesa-based company that employs sailors on fishing and merchant vessels was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for treason. Prosecutors proved that the convict voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the Russian Federation's special services and passed intelligence on Ukrainian defense positions and critical infrastructure to the enemy.

SBU cyber specialists also detained two residents of Odesa on suspicion of cooperation with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

The SBU intercepted a telephone conversation in which a man was receiving a task from his supervisor, a staff member of a Russian game.

During the briefing, the enemy intelligence officer identified priority targets for his accomplice to engage. Among them are air defense positions and reserve command posts of Ukrainian troops defending Odesa and the Black Sea.
