Kherson Oblast plans to modernize its canteen. The project with an estimate of more than UAH 10 million already has approved documentation, but is awaiting government support.

This is evidenced by the data of the DREAM ecosystem.

The Lymanets Lyceum of the Darya community in Kherson district is preparing for major repairs and modernization of the canteen and catering unit. The project envisages the arrangement in accordance with the Basic Kitchen technological model.

The lyceum is the only educational institution that remains functional in the community. Currently, 340 children study here, including 54 from families of internally displaced persons. The building of the educational institution has suffered minor damage as a result of the war, but it has a shelter and operates in relatively safe conditions. Due to the large number of destroyed schools in the region, the institution is planned to be developed to introduce blended learning and increase the number of students.

The project envisages a comprehensive renovation of the canteen and the arrangement of a modern food unit. The total area of the dining room is over 218 m², and its production capacity is 340 meals per shift. According to the description, the modernization should take into account the accessibility conditions for people with limited mobility. The canteen is to be equipped with modern utensils, washing baths, shelving, tables, a ventilation system and other equipment.

The total estimate of the work is UAH 10.7 million, but funding currently covers only 1.85% of the required amount. UAH 198 thousand was spent on design. The equipment is planned to be purchased and installed for almost 3.3 million hryvnias, more than 3.1 million will be spent on other capital expenditures, and the construction itself will cost more than 4 million hryvnias.

The project was initiated by the Lyceum of Lymanets, and the Dariivka Village Council is its balance sheet holder. Currently, the project parties have applied for a state subvention, but consideration has not yet begun.

Also in Kherson region, it is planned to build a shelter for a lyceum for more than 260 people. In the village of Skhidne, Kherson district, it is planned to build a civil defense shelter for the lyceum, where 136 students are currently studying remotely. However, in March 2025, the government refused to approve a subvention of UAH 42 million.
