Kherson allocated 119 million for landscaping, lighting and landfill

Kherson has allocated over UAH 118 million for 2026 to support municipal enterprises and institutions. Most of the funds will be allocated to Kherson Parks, maintenance of the landfill, outdoor lighting, and regulation of the number of stray animals.

The Centerfor Public Investigations analyzed how the budget funds were allocated.

The relevant changes were approved by Yaroslav Shanko, head of Kherson MVA. After adjustments, the total amount of funding for the program reached 118.7 million hryvnias.

The largest amount - UAH 82.6 million - will be allocated to the municipal enterprise Parks of Kherson. In particular, more than UAH 9.2 million has been allocated for fuel, almost UAH 1.73 million for consumables, about UAH 243 thousand for brushcutters, UAH 300 thousand for spare parts for vehicles, and another UAH 100 thousand for components for tools.

Ecopolis plans to finance almost UAH 9.85 million. The bulk of the funds will be spent on employee salaries and related charges - more than UAH 6 million in total. Another UAH 2.39 million has been allocated for fuel. Separately, one million hryvnias will be allocated to prepare an environmental impact assessment report on waste disposal and the operation of the city landfill.

Almost UAH 9.8 million will be allocated to Khersonmisksvitlo. More than UAH 7.1 million is allocated for salaries, and more than UAH 1.56 million for accruals. The budget also includes expenses for water supply, sewage and electricity for the administrative building.

More than UAH 5.65 million will be allocated to support the utility company. Most of the funds will be used to pay salaries to employees: more than UAH 1.35 million for administrative staff and more than UAH 2.4 million for the company's workers.

A part of the funding was earmarked for the maintenance of stray animals. In particular, more than UAH 72 thousand was allocated for medicines and equipment for catching dogs, more than UAH 23 thousand for veterinary drugs, more than UAH 40 thousand for the arrangement of a shelter, and more than UAH 7 thousand for materials for the manufacture and installation of cages.

In total, the program's expenditures for 2026 amount to UAH 118.7 million and should ensure the operation of municipal services, infrastructure maintenance, and landscaping in Kherson.

Kherson Municipal Association has also updated the action plan of the Department of Municipal Economy for 2026, providing more than UAH 419 million to support utilities and institutions.
