Jewish Hospital in Odesa wants to create a rehabilitation center, but there is no money

Odesa City Hospital No. 1, known as the Jewish Hospital, plans to create a modern rehabilitation center for UAH 58 million.

According to the description, it is a matter of capitalizing the department with the necessary equipment to provide comprehensive rehabilitation care.

However, the project is currently only at the planning stage - there are no confirmed sources of funding. The cost of the project is preliminarily estimated at UAH 58.3 million.

The project is initiated and implemented by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The mayor's office previously reported that in 2024, more than 300 patients underwent inpatient rehabilitation at Odesa City Clinical Hospital No. 1, and about 500 more received outpatient care.

Last year, modern rehabilitation equipment was purchased for the hospital at the expense of the city budget. In particular, the medical institution received advanced virtual systems with mechanical support for the rehabilitation of arms and legs, which have modules for the comprehensive restoration of body functions.

In addition, the hospital purchased a simulator with a vibration platform and a computerized electroneuromyography complex. The city council reported that one of the buildings is being renovated to create a modern rehabilitation unit, which will also integrate the Mental Health Center.

Last year, during an audit at the Jewish Hospital , auditors found violations totaling more than 11 million hryvnias, of which 10.5 million were financial losses and lost funds.

Also, Intent wrote that the city council has decided on a contractor who will restore the surgical pavilion of Hospital No. 1. There was only one bidder, so the Capital Construction Department did not have to choose between the cheaper bidders. On September 13, the agreement was signed with Exterior Design LLC. The contract value for price adjustment is UAH 167 million 938 thousand.
