January 2025 was a tragic month for Kherson, as the city lost 16 of its residents in that month. This is about the same number of people killed and wounded in December 2024 as a result of Russian attacks.

According to Roman Mrochko, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, 154 Kherson residents were injured by Russian shelling in the first month of the new year alone. This is 25 people more than in December 2024, which indicates an aggravation of the situation in the city.
