Indictment Filed Against Inessa Markov for Treason Amid War in Ukraine

The prosecutor's office has submitted to the court an indictment against Inessa, the wife of former MP from Odesa, Ihor Markov. She was accused of treason.

According to the Odesa regional prosecutor's office, the woman is the wife of the former MP, who previously headed the Rodina political party and left for Russia after 2014. In Moscow, she founded an IT company.

The investigation found that this company was engaged in the creation of software for state-owned enterprises in Russia, as well as institutions cooperating with the Russian government, the Ministry of Defense and special services.

In 2023, on behalf of this company, software was implemented for military helicopters Mi-26, Mi-35M, Mi-28N "Night Hunter" and KA-52 "Alligator", which Russia uses in the war against Ukraine.

The property of the accused, including luxury residential real estate and a land plot in Odesa, has already been seized and transferred to the management of the ARMA. Intent wrote about this.

Since the suspect is in hiding, she has been put on the wanted list, and the trial will take place in absentia.

The prosecutor's office did not name the accused, but judging by the published photos, it is the wife of Odesa politician Igor Markov, Inessa.

Earlier, the Security Service collected new evidence of the guilt of former MP Ihor Markov, who assisted Russia in waging an aggressive war against Ukraine.

Then, based on the new evidence, SBU investigators notified the defendant of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

Earlier, in June 2022, law enforcement officers served Markov with a notice of suspicion of collaboration.
