In the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, Russian troops have built an extensive network of underground fortifications and tunnels, which they use to move personnel and equipment covertly.

Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Southern Defense Forces, reported this in an interview with UNIAN.

According to him, on the left bank of the Kherson region, the occupiers have dug dozens of kilometers of tunnels, where they station personnel, artillery positions, and drone launch sites.

“North of Oleshky and Kozachi Lagery, everything is concentrated underground. That is where personnel are being moved, artillery positions are located, and drone takeoff and landing sites are situated,” Voloshin noted.

He compared this system to the underground network that Hamas once built in the Gaza Strip.

The spokesperson also reported that Russian troops have not ceased their attacks on the right bank of the Kherson region. According to him, more than 2,000 kamikaze drone strikes are recorded daily in the area of responsibility of the Southern Defense Forces, and about a third of them are directed specifically at Kherson.

In addition, the occupiers continue their attempts to expand their presence in the Dnipro River’s island zone. They are trying to establish a foothold on the islands of Nestryga, Kruglik, Bilogrudyi, and Velykyi Vilkhovyi, as well as advance closer to the right bank.

The enemy’s most active operations remain in the area of the Antonivka road and rail bridges. It is there that Russian troops are attempting to push Ukrainian defenders back from the main channel of the Dnipro River, but they have not succeeded.

At the same time, strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the occupiers’ logistics routes are already yielding results. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian units in the temporarily occupied Kherson region are facing a shortage of fuel for both vehicles and generators. As a result, the enemy is experiencing difficulties in supplying its troops and conducting combat operations.
