Head of the Supervisory Board of the Public Broadcasting Company spoke about the reform of the TV and radio company

"Detector Media organized a meeting in Odesa to discuss the progress of the Public Broadcasting reform, challenges for the media, and opportunities for civil society organizations to join the reform.

Svitlana Ostapa, the Head of the Supervisory Board of the Public Broadcasting Company, came to the live stream of Intent.Insight.

She answered questions about the activities of the public broadcaster and listened to suggestions on how to make it better. As always, questions from the audience were also voiced live.

Public Broadcasting is the largest independent media company in Ukraine. It was established in 2017 as part of the reform of state broadcasting in Ukraine. UA:PBC includes Pervyi, Suspilne Culture, Suspilne Sport TV channels and a national network of local channels;
radio stations Ukrainian Radio, Radio Promin, Radio Culture, Radiotochka.

Svitlana Ostapa is a Ukrainian journalist and media manager, Honored Journalist of Ukraine. On March 25, 2019, she was elected to the position of the Head of the Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine. Since 2013, she has been a member of the Commission on Journalistic Ethics.

She has been a member of the public councils of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Information and Humanitarian Policy since 2019 (formerly the Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy in 2010-2019) and the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting. She has been a member of the Presidential Council on Freedom of Speech and Protection of Journalists since November 6, 2019.

Every week, the studio discusses one of the issues that concerns Ukrainians and tries to solve specific problems. For example, Odesa decided to hold a competition for the best design proposal for a monument to Lesia Ukrainka, so the September 9 episode was dedicated to this topic.
