The National Police of Ukraine has served two former heads of the occupation power structures of Kherson region with a notice of suspicion of collaboration. These are 49-year-old Ihor Savchenko from Chornobaivka and 41-year-old Dmytro Holtsov from Mykolaiv. According to the investigation, in 2022, they headed the seized police department of the Korabelny district of Kherson. Later, Savchenko became the head of the occupation police in Nyzhni Sirohozi.

This was reported by the Center for Investigative Journalism with reference to the suspicions against Savchenko and Goltsov.

Ihor Savchenko initially headed the seized police department of the Korabelny district of the city, and after the liberation of the regional center, he moved to Nyzhni Sirohoz, where he took a similar position in the occupation administration. Along with him, 41-year-old Mykolaiv resident Dmytro Holtsov, who worked as Savchenko's deputy and before that had served for several weeks in a high position in the occupation 'Ministry of Internal Affairs' of the Kherson region.

Ihor Savchenko's past is closely linked to pro-Russian forces, as he was once an assistant to the traitor Oleksiy Zhuravko, who was liquidated in 2022. Despite an attempt to run for the Kherson City Council from the 'Propozytsiya' party in 2020, Savchenko had significant financial problems and numerous lawsuits from banks over unpaid loans. Currently, both defendants are charged under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for 12 to 15 years in prison with full confiscation of property.

In addition, seven police officers from Kherson region will stand trial for planting explosives, falsifying evidence and extortion during searches. Investigators believe that they acted in an organized scheme during 2024-2025. The prosecutor's office has sent to court an indictment against seven officers of the National Police of Kherson region who are accused of falsifying evidence, unlawful interference with privacy and extortion during searches.

According to the investigation, during 2024-2025, the group acted according to a certain scheme. They provided false information about the alleged involvement of citizens in crimes, obtained court permits for searches, and during the searches, law enforcement officers planted drugs, explosives or ammunition and recorded it as "found evidence."
