Police in Kherson region have exposed the head of an Odesa-based construction company who overestimated the cost of overhauling residential buildings in Blahodatne that were damaged by Russian shelling.

According to the press service of the National Police in Kherson region, investigators found that between August and October 2023, the leadership of the territorial community entered into 11 contracts with the entrepreneur to restore the homes of local residents. Upon completion of the work, the village council transferred almost UAH 4 million to the company's account. However, investigators found out that the 41-year-old contractor had overestimated the cost of the work by more than UAH 450 thousand.

Investigators of Police Department No. 1 (Bilozerske) notified the entrepreneur of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under the procedural supervision of the Oleshky District Prosecutor's Office. The businessman faces up to eight years in prison.

In the village of Pravdino, Kherson district, it is planned to repair the water supply system. This requires 57.7 million hryvnias.

Earlier, the Department of Territorial Development of the Kherson Regional State Administration announced its intention to restore the hospital building in the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka. The cost of the work, according to the project, is UAH 120.7 million. Before that, the department announced that it was looking for money to build a general family medicine outpatient clinic in the village of Davydiv Brid.

In addition, the Verkhnorohachytsia village council announced its intention to purchase a set of equipment and a car for a mobile ASC. They plan to spend a little over UAH 1 million. And the Kherson Regional Hospital for Rehabilitation has announced the creation of a 30-bedMental Health Unit. The arrangement of which can cost the budget 11 million hryvnias. At the same time, the hospital itself can allocate only 93 thousand hryvnias out of 11 million.
