<span><span><span>Russia's aggression is causing the city heavy material losses. The shelling often results in fires, which causes the city to lose large amounts of money from the budget.</span></span></span>

This was reported by Roman Voznyak, Head of the Department for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the City Council.

<span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>"<span>About 50% of the fires recorded recently were caused by enemy shelling</span>," said Roman Voznyak.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>The summer season is a fire hazard in itself, and even more so when there is a war going on. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>"Losses from such fires have reached tens of millions of hryvnias</span></span></span></span></span><span><span><span><span><span>," added Roman Voznyak.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>However, according to statistics, the lion's share of fires in Mykolaiv is also caused by carelessness with fire. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>"<span>The other part of the fires is the result of non-compliance with fire safety rules, in particular, burning dead wood, careless handling of fire or leaving fires unattended</span>," said the head of the department.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Difficult weather conditions are also a big risk in the current situation. Even minor fires can cause major problems.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>Firefighters</span></span></span></span></span></span><span><span><span><span><span> are taking measures to control the situation at all </span></span></span></span></span><span><span><span><span><span>locations in the city </span></span></span></span></span><span><span><span><span><span><span>, but the shelling does not stop for a day. In cases other than enemy attacks, the SES gives clear recommendations on how to avoid a fire.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>Meanwhile </span></span></span></span></span></span>, fires in the ecosystems of Odesa region have caused environmental damage since the beginning of the year, which experts estimate at UAH 23 billion. In total, 18 such fires have occurred in Odesa Oblast since the beginning of the year. Thus, the damage caused by the fire in the Lower Dniester National Nature Park in Odesa Oblast on March 18 was estimated at UAH 31 million 984 thousand.

The first is to check gas equipment from time to time. Do not smoke indoors and avoid open flames. Supervise small children, as they sometimes create dangerous situations while playing. Carefully follow fire safety rules to avoid injuries to yourself and your loved ones.
