The right bank of the Kherson region experienced another day of shelling by the occupation forces. More than 30 settlements came under enemy fire.
According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the Russian military shelled residential areas of the region's settlements, damaging 2 high-rise buildings and 9 private houses. The occupants also damaged outbuildings, a garage and private cars. Three people were injured.
Among the settlements that came under fire were Antonivka, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Nezlamne, Shlyakhove, Zelenivka, Sadove, Komyshany, Chervonyi Mayak, Beryslav, Burgunka, Veletynske, Vesele, Mykilske, Novotyanka, Zolota Balka, Zmiivka, Olhivka, Lvov, Tyahyntsi and the city of Kherson.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the regional power distribution company, power engineers have connected 18 settlements that were left without electricity due to Russian shelling.
Experts carried out repair work and restored power supply to more than 6,700 subscribers in Koshar, Novoraysk, Zamozhne, Stepove, Kostyrka, Urozhayne, Sukhanove, Chervonyi Yar, Naddnipryanske, Ingulka, Zarichne, Fedorivka, Ulyanivka, Darivka, Mykilske, Zhovtneve, Molodizhne and Yasna Polyana.
On January 21, Russian troops fired twice at the rescuers. During the shelling of one of Kherson's neighborhoods, an employee of the State Emergency Service was injured while performing emergency rescue operations. He was hospitalized, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
Before that, the occupiers had struck numerous times in the Kherson region. The aggression killed two people and injured 11 others.
In the morning, a 61-year-old local resident fell victim to a Russian "petal" mine in the village of Antonivka. As a result of the explosion, the man sustained serious injuries - an explosive wound and a foot injury. The victim was promptly taken to the hospital.
Earlier, a police car hit a mine while evacuating a sick 60-year-old resident of frontline Odradokamianka.
