Critical infrastructure and houses under fire: Russia attacks Kherson region

Over the past day, Russian troops shelled Kherson region, hitting 38 settlements, including the city of Kherson.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, residential areas, critical infrastructure, private houses, and vehicles were hit. Nine private houses, a cell tower, garages and cars of local residents were damaged.

Antonivka, Dariivka, Stanislav, Kozatske, Chervonyi Mayak, Osokorivka, Beryslav, Zolota Balka and Naddnipryanske were the most affected. The shelling also hit Tokarivka, Tyahynka, Mykhailivka, Shlyakhove and other villages.

Five people were wounded in the attacks and are currently receiving medical care.

The day before, the head of the Kherson Military District Administration , Oleksandr Prokudin , warned of a possible massive shelling of the city and its suburbs on January 25. He noted that the enemy could use cannon and rocket artillery in the morning.

"Take care of your own and your family's safety! Take care of yourselves!" the official warned.

On January 23, Russians damaged 2 high-rise buildings and 9 private houses. The occupants also damaged outbuildings, a garage and private cars. Three people were injured.

On January 21, Russian troops fired twice at rescuers. During the shelling of one of Kherson's neighborhoods, an employee of the State Emergency Service was injured while performing emergency rescue operations. He was hospitalized, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

Before that, the occupiers had struck numerous times in the Kherson region. The aggression killed two people and injured 11 others.

In the morning, a 61-year-old local resident fell victim to a Russian "petal" mine in the village of Antonivka. As a result of the explosion, the man sustained serious injuries - an explosive wound and a foot injury. The victim was promptly taken to hospital.
