The repair of the bridge over the Kofa Canal in Izmail district on the T-16-07 road connecting Izmail, Kiliya and Vilkovo continues.
This was reported by the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service of Odesa Oblast.
According to the Service, the bridge structure with a railing has already been installed, and the asphalting of the bridge part has been completed. However, work on the approaches to the bridge is still ongoing. Here, they are filling the embankment and cones near the supports, installing separators and spillways.
Along with the repair work on the bridge itself, the T-16-07 highway, which is an important transportation artery for the south of Odesa Oblast, was also repaired.
The bridge over the Kofa Canal is important for four communities in Izmail district and is essential for the movement of both civilian and special vehicles. The repairs are expected to significantly increase the capacity and speed up the movement of cars, school buses, ambulances and trucks carrying goods of economic importance.
The bridge was built in the 1960s, and in 2021 it was closed to traffic due to its emergency condition. At that time, partial repairs were carried out on the section from the bridge to Kiliya, and in 2024, patching was carried out on the section of the road from Izmail to the village of Kyslytsi in the Safianivka community, as well as a 4 km section from the bridge towards Izmail.
Meanwhile, in Odesa, the restoration of a residential building that was damaged during the Russian attack has been completed. It is a building on Kanatna Street.
Recently, the Odesa National Art Museum restored a historic door that was damaged during a rocket attack on Sofiivska Street in 2023. The front door was completely restored and returned to its authentic appearance.
